ok i had the exact same problem so here are my tips:
BUFF YOUR NAILS
using a good buffer block. you will see the nails look kinda dry but just run them under water + apply a conditioning nail polish.
BRUSH THEM WITH TOOTHPASTE
sounds crazy but if you brush some whitening toothpaste on with an old toothbrush it really helps.
also just wear clear nail polish for a while. :}Help! My nails have turned yellow because i paint my nails a different colour everyday! how do i stop this?
For now stop painting them for like about a week then when your going to paint them again first buy the clear nailpolish and coat the nail once or twice before applying the colored nail polish and that problem well never happen again, and you can paint them as much as you want.Help! My nails have turned yellow because i paint my nails a different colour everyday! how do i stop this?
U have to go to a drug store and tell someone what happened to ur nails鈥?They will give u either something to put on ur nails, some pills till take for ur nails to get better, and they鈥檒l tell u to stop putting on nail polish for a while.
Go on http://google.com and look up symptom checker. It鈥檒l be the first sourse u see, click on it and u鈥檒l see this page where u can click on a list of symptoms u feel and they鈥檒l tell u if theres a medial prob.
Use an undercoat before using the colour... Barry M do a good one, which is basically a strong coat of clear gloss which will stop any colour from the top coat leaking into your nails. =)
And maybe painting your nails a different colour EVERY DAY isnt the smartest idea - because they will eventually fall off...
You need to let your nails breathe, or they will stay yellow.
Take off the nail polish and keep it off for about a month or until you see them turn there normal color.
Hope this helps, help me?

Try putting base coat and then the color and then top coat
usually the nails turn yellow if you put reds and dark colors on with out putting the base coat on
Give it some time before you paint your nails again. I had the same problem before as well, and that's the only thing that worked.
lol stop painting them everyday. Its okay to paint your nails but let them breath in between. So have them colored for a week and then maybe a few days off...
Stop putting on so much nail polish.
You want your nails to turn green and fall off because they're so weak when you're 30?
You need to use good nail polish that DOES NOT contain formaldehyde.
put only on that nail polish that help nails grows and strengthen them
leave them without nailpolish for a while
take off the nail polish and let them be without nail polish for a while
what those ppl said! lol

Whitening yellow nails HELP!!!!!!!!!?
ok so my nails are sooo yellow its unreal its because i have been wearing really dark nail varnish with no bottom coat for like 2 years and now i want to try get my nails back to their natural pinkness the problem is i am running out of ideas
I have used denture tablets in warm water and been soaking them in that for 15 minutes each day the yellowing has gone down slightly but i mean slightly.
I have soaked my fingers in lemon juice and this just seemed to do nothing.
I then added baking soda to the lemon juice and put that on my nails but that didn't seem to make the yellow fade either.
I have used sally hansens whitening nail varnish and that does absolutly nothing.
It's been a week now and the colour is still pretty much as yellow as it was when i first started.
Somebody has got to no a way to get my nails back to being the lovely pink colour they used to be please help me!!!!Whitening yellow nails HELP!!!!!!!!!?
Dont wear nail polish anymore. It will become pinkish gradually.Whitening yellow nails HELP!!!!!!!!!?
Use Nail Lacquer.
You might have a fungal problem. Go to the Beauty Parlor get a pedicure. And ask for some advice from the beauticians.
Stop using dark nail varnish. It stains your nails.
Drink Milk with Almonds.
Apply Hand and Nail Cream.
May I ask...Do you smoke ?
If so... Stop. They also cause nails to go yellow.
If all else fails just go get it checked out. The docs may be able to do something about it.

The only thing you can do is wait it out, the reason your nails are that color is because the nail polish blocked oxygen from getting to the nail-beds. In a few weeks of leaving your nails alone, they should get a lot lighter. But taking calcium should help a lot.
just paint over them with a blue

There are products you can buy in boots and the like that will whiten the nails.
opps me too girl i have to idea how to solve your problem :( sorry i can't help... :( but i wish you can fix ur problem soon :)
mwaauh3x kisses and have a nice day!
Wow, hun... Its time to go see a doc.
the yellow color is actually polish that has penetrated into the top of your natural nail. it won't come out or come off not matter what u do. lemon jiuce and all that stuff don't remove regular polish and won't even touch the stuff that's penetrated your nails.
the best thing to do is apply a nice base-coat, and then a light pink topcoat. it'll make them look nice, and in a couple of months a new nail will replace the stained portion (as they grow out).
this is why they make base-coat, to protect ur nails.
good luck.
Here are two suggestions:
-soak nails in white vinegar for 10 min. If stubborn stains persist, mix 2 tablespoons of household bleach and half a cup ofwarm water. Place nails in mixture for 15 min. Stains should be gone. :) Oh. And be sure to rinse well, slather on hand cream and cuticle oil afterwards.
the other suggestion:
-soak nails in a solution of half a cup of grapefruit juice or lemon juice for 5 min. and rinse. If stains persist, re-soak for another 5 min. If the stains are still there, dip a cotton ball in household bleach and place on the nail bed for 1 to 2 min. Rinse and moiturize afterwards!
Hope I help :)

Why are my nails yellow..?
ok so i have acrylics with white tips. ive been goin tanning a lot lately and after i went yesterday, my tips were like an off white eggshell color.
did my nails tan or sumthing?
lolWhy are my nails yellow..?
Its from the tanning lotion you apply before you go into the bed. You can put bandaids over your nails to keep your acrylics from getting messed up, or just keep your fingertips outside the bed. It usually takes about a week of tanning for nails to turn yellow. Why are my nails yellow..?
Yeah the tanning bed actually tanned your nails that sucks lol i say you sue the tanning place!!! %26gt;D lol jk but yeah thats what happened :(
well on 60 mins they proved acrillics are poision and cuz it rotts ur nails (like wats happinig to u) imaging wats happinig to ur health breathing that smell in???

Acrylic Nails Turning Yellow?
Why do the Acrylic nails turn yellow? and how is that preventable?Acrylic Nails Turning Yellow?
They're old and need replacingAcrylic Nails Turning Yellow?
i'm not sure i've never had that happen but i'm sure that thats a sign that they should be removed and left off for awhille and then replaced at a later date
You must be very careful. That could be a sign of fungus. You should get them done over. Go to the nail store and find out what you can do, they will give the best advice.
My nails do that sometimes. It's because water gets underneath the acrylic. I'm bad about washing dishes or something and water getting under them. Try to wear gloves whenever you're working with water and if you're taking a shower or a bath, buy some bath gloves. They are like terry-cloth gloves. Also, try to get a new set put on every 4 months is possible and go for a fill-in every 2 weeks. Hope I helped!
They turn yellow when exposed to the sun too much. SOMETIMES it works using nail polish remover and just wiping it over (if there's nothing painted on it, that is.)..
Tanning in a tanning bed can cause them to turn yellow. If you use the tanning bed tell your nail tech and they can use a special product to prevent this. I have also heard that lemon juice will remove the yellow.

Yellow Nails???
i took nail polish off and found my nails had turned yellow...not attractive! any way to fix this?Yellow Nails???
try soaking them in lemon juiceYellow Nails???
I have my nails professionally manicured all the time. If you polish your own nails that's fine. Make sure you use a clear base coat first, then put on two coats of the color and then a clear top coat to seal the polish. Change the color weekly. Wearing darker colors seems to yellow the nails more than lighter colors do for some reason. I wear both light and dark colors but mostly lighter ones. Ever few months, I remove my nail polish and just let my nails breathe for a week or two. After all, your nails are skin and skin needs to breathe. If your nails are still yellow, try soaking them in lemon juice. Good luck!
paint over it
it was either because of the nail polish which might've been close to yellowish color
or you might've been on there for a long time and cause fingernail infection
but I highly doubt that
it should come off in a few days or weeks
I am a guy
so I never really put nail polish on
but I have experienced it
I lost a bet one time and put blue nail polish
then, i got it off and there were a few light blue marks still there
and it came off in about a week or so...
wash your hands daily
and try to keep them away from facing up
(if it doesn't look attractive)
Good Luck!!!
and I hope you take this advice into concideration
Make sure your getting enough nutrients.
EEWW MAYBE YOU SHOULDNT WEAR NAILPOLISH ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, red polish will do that.
Put some hydrogen peroxide in a bowl or sink, enough to soak your nails in for 30 seconds or so.
And brushing with whitening toothpaste works, too.
try not to paint them for a while it could be the acid in the polish that happened to me once
I think this is usually caused by not using a base coat. Not sure if it can be fixed, or whether you have to grow them out. Keeping them buffed would probably help.
do not paint ur cats nails again. the polish remover mite have irratated and given him an infection.
dilute 2 tablespoons of bleech with 2 cups of water, then soak ur hands in it for 5 minutes..if that dosnt work try rubbing the mixture on your nails with papertowl
soak em in lemon juice... they need LOTS of sun too!!
I just cover em up again with more polish, though if I leave the polish off long enough they go back to normal. They used to have a pencil that you could rub under the tips of the nail to give a french manicure look - I wonder if would help to lighten the tops also. Some say that a good base coat can keep this from happening in the first place - this has worked for me. I was told that it is caused by a lack of oxygen to the nails - and some polishes are more airtight than others - though I am not sure if that is true or not.
Peace!
Buff them, they may just be stained from the polish.
Clean them with something acidic like lemon juice or nail polish remover to remove any grease or surface stains. You can get special products for this at basically any grocery store.
I don't know why you have this question listed in the pet/cat area of this department but here's your answer. Most nail polish has formaldehyde in it. Formaldehyde is a preservative, they use it when they embalm people. That and the other chemicals in the nail polish are causing your nails to turn yellow.
You may want to take a break from polish for a while or use something without so many chemicals, you may want to check out the internet to see if there is such a thing as a organic nail polish.
You can fix it by not using nail polish, there is a nail product you can buy that has four sides, one side finely buffs your nail and another side shines your nails, you can use this to buff off the stains.
you need more calcium
what you can do is to skip putting nail polish in order to return to its color. Try for two weeks to one month you will see the results.

Yellow nails.. toothpaste? hydrogen peroxyde? other?
I had my nails polished by someone who happened to buy a cheap nail polish. Although the color is light, it left a yellow tinge when I removed it. I always polish my nails, and they're always white. I guess the brand this lady gave me was not that good.
I read somewhere that we can use whitening toothpaste. It's late now, stores are closed. Does a regular toothpaste do?
I read somewhere else that hydrogen peroxyde is good.. anyone has tried it?
Anyone has another idea? What can possibly be done?
(I know that if I wait for 2-3 weeks they will grow white again, I just want to know if there's anything fast that could be done.)
Thank you!Yellow nails.. toothpaste? hydrogen peroxyde? other?
i used this once and it whitened mine so yeah heres the link

YELLOW NAILS, EWWWWWW?
ok i am 33 weeks pregnant.( AND POSSIBLY THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PREGNANCY BUT) .i have always been a nail biter since i was young %26amp; my nails have always been short..now with this pregnancy my nails have grown soo much %26amp; i havent had the urger to bite. so its good, but they are yellow. some people have said its because of the nail polish %26amp; when u leave it on long it makes that happen..ok but how do i remove the yellow of it. i have tried acetone, i have tried filing the top of my nails and nothing..still yellow..and it actually looks sickning.%26amp; ugly..can anyone please send me some tips on how to remove the yellowish color off my nails. PLEASE..lol %26amp; by the way is this normal?YELLOW NAILS, EWWWWWW?
Soak your fingertips in a bowl of lemon juice, or better yet - denture tablets for 5 minutes. Scrub with a soapy nailbrush, under as well as top of the nails. Dry and apply hand cream to keep your hands soft. :]
Yes, it is normal. My nails are ugly yellow/tan from using self tanner occasionally. Effervescent dental tabs work wonders.YELLOW NAILS, EWWWWWW?
i heard lemon juice is supposed to work but i havent' done it.
soak them for 20 minutes.
Yes, this is perfectly normal. Do you paint your nails a lot? That is probably what is causing the staining. I recommend applying a base coat, if you don't already use one, on your nails before putting on the polish. This way you're not applying the nail polish directly onto the nail plate. Use a nail bleach to whiten your nails and get rid of the yellowish color.
Good luck!
I was a nail biter, too for many years, then i became a manicurist. Imagine that.
Now that your nails are growing with your pregnancy and prenatal vitamines, the next thing you need to add is applying vit E oil to your nails. Your nails presently are getting the best possible nourishment, but after you deliver, your nails will go back to being brittle and slow growing. So do begin the vit E oil now, so you can ward off some of that. Use the E oil every night, or anytime you have a moment to rub it into your nails... make it a ritual!!
It is possible that your nails are picking up the yellow color from very dark red nail polishes. Instead of using dark colors, you could change to lighter colors. Please, please do not use acetone on your nails... particularly while you're pregnant. It is absorbed into your body thru your fingertips and your baby gets a dose also!!!!! And, please, don't file the tops of your nails, that only makes them thinner and more suseptable to absorbing leached color from your polish. Fingernails are jewels, not tools... OK??? Fingernails are laid down in little plates like fish scales. Every time you rough up one of those little scales, you creat a weak spot where water can enter the keratin and warp the plate out of shape. This pushes other plates out of shape and causes a weak spot.
To try to get rid of the yellow color, use fresh lemon juice as a mild bleach on your nails. If this doesn't help enough, at Sally stores, there's a product (sorta like tooth paste) that has minute polishing crystals for nails. You could try that also. Most anything else you use will damage your nails to the point that you won't be happy with them.
When polishing your nails, use a good base coat, always!!!!! then apply color and a top coat. Wear polish all the time, it helps to protect the keratin of the nails and keep your nails stronger.
Good luck, have fun with that little one!!!!!
soak your nails in a mixture of peroxide and water.
lol you killed your nails with nailpolish you can either paint over it or let it grow out its called a base coat.
nail polish stains. the best idea would be to trim them. then paint them with 2 coats of clear coat and then another color to cover up the yellow.
the clear coat will help keep them from staining again and then they can grow out normally.
This happens to women all of the time, so it has nothing to do with your pregnancy.
The nail polish thing is correct though. If you are always using dark nail polish, then the color of your nails with become yellow. I think that it has something to due with dark nail polish has different chemicals than lighter polishes.
Lay off acetone and other nail polishes, light or dark. Sally Hanson has this great nail polish strengthener. This one is my favorite!

It pretty much explains the whole thing on the page. This is why I like it:
*It made my nails not bend and break as easily.
*My nails grow faster (I pick at them sometimes).
*My nail got whiter(They look tan sometimes!), and the pink parts stayed pink.
I use it as my top coat to seal in my polish, the base coat below my polish, and sometimes, I just used it as a clear coat.
