Yellowing, discoloured nails

This often indicates a fungal infection (onychomycosis). It is most common in toenails and often follows on from athlete's foot.

The end of the nail separates from the nail bed and white, green, yellow or black matter builds up under the nail plate.

Solution: An oral anti fungal medication (terbanifine) is the most commonly prescribed treatment and is successful in around 85 per cent of cases, although it can take up to six months or more to work. Anti fungal creams are less successful as they can be difficult to apply under the nail.Yellow fingure nails? HELP?

Our fingernails are a window to our bodies' health. Changes in the look, shape, or color of our finger nails can indicate a disorder or a disease somewhere in our body long before other symptoms show up. For example, white fingernails can indicate that you have anemia or kidney problems. Pitted brown spots or splits fingernail tips may mean you have psoriasis.

This article will tell of some other diseases and disorders that our fingernails can warn us about so we can go see a doctor for further evaluation.
Do you paint your nails? Nail polish, if left on too long will make your nails look yellow. If so, just dont paint them for awhile.

Also, it might be an infection.
Go to shop with med stuff... you can buy special nail polish that prevents and/or stops your nails fom going yellow....
Is the nail bed raised more than normal? Is your nail thicker than normal?
